Friends of the State Street Family loves it when groups like families, troops, companies, social groups, etc. get together to purchase and assemble small packages for our Outreach Teams to distribute to our vulnerable, homeless friends. These packages in clear baggies no larger than quart size make it easier for our friends to receive, carry, and use.
Cold & Flu Season Packs
Nobody wants to get sick, especially when you don’t have the comfort of a warm bed. Consider: Ibuprofen/Tylenol, tissues, cough drops, Dayquil.
No Hunger Packs
For our friends with no funds hoping for a dollar to pick up some snacks, non-perishable snacks that are easy to carry, easier to chew, and a good protein source will help to carry them through to the next community meal. Consider: granola bars, beef sticks, chips, apple sauce.
Hygiene Help Packs
Help somebody feel better about themselves, stay healthy, and preserve their dignity. Consider: razors, wet wipes, deodorant, comb, wash cloth.
Winter Challenge Packs
We can barely breathe outside when it’s so cold and the holidays can be hard. Imagine living outside alone? These items can help: coffee gift card from Starbucks, Barriques, or Espresso Royale, tissues, hand and toe warmers, thermal socks, ChapStick, emergency foil blanket.
Summer Woes Packs
Imagine a friend who cannot get relief from the heat, humidity, or bugs that Wisconsin’s summer brings: emergency ice pack, flavored packet for water, small sunscreen, bug spray, allergy tablets, and tissues.
First Aid Packs
Small injuries can turn into infections easily. These items will help keep those away while providing some relief: few sizes of bandages/Band Aids, triple antibiotic ointment, antiseptic wipes, gauze, Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
